Alcester Male Voice Choirs annual concert tickets now on sale

Following a successful annual concert last Spring at The Town Hall in Birmingham the popular Alcester Male Voice Choir comes back home to Alcester this April to celebrate what will be their 39th annual concert.

The concert takes place on Saturday 27th April next at the The Grieg in Alcester and tickets are £12,50 which includes a programme.

Founder and Director of Music, Judith Land, has, once again, put together a varied programme which will appeal to concert goers of all ages and of wide musical tastes and includes such male voice choir classics as When the saints, You raise me up, Soldiers Chorus and Where Shall I be . Once again the choir will be supported by some of the best in local talent . Katie Leaver, who is a well known and popular soprano on the local circuit and sings with a number of choral societies not only in the Midlands but in London, Cambridgeshire, and Gloucestershire, she has also made numerous recordings as part of her work with Roger Jones composer of Christian musicals. Occasional Brass, will bring their own brand of music to the concert. The five musicians are from the Alcester Victoria Silver Band and have a considerable repertoire., and finally Amy Moynihan on Violin a very talented young lady who is a pupil at St Bed’s Middle School in Redditch and has already made her mark with the Worcester Intermediate Orchestra, and was a finalist in Worcestershire’s Young musician of the year in 2012.

The 80 strong Alcester Male Voice choir, which inludes several men from Henley and surrounding villages, featured in the Christmas edition of BBC Ones Country File, has a reputation as being one of the finest Male Voice Choirs in theMidlands, and regularly performs concerts throughout the area and beyond raising many thousands of pounds for charities, churches, clubs, groups and associations of all kinds. In addition the choir has appeared at Birmingham’s Symphony Hall, Ely Cathedral, St Davids Hall Cardiff, and the Royal Albert Hall.
