Local choir’s extraordinary year comes to an end with CD launch
2014 has been an extraordinary and exciting year for the Alcester Male Voice Choir. It has been a year when the choir celebrated 40 years of singing, a year in which their founder and Director of Music, Judith Land, was awarded the British Empire Medal in the Queens New Year’s Honours list back in January and a year that the choir performed at two of the most prestigious venues in the country Symphony Hall in Birmingham, celebrating their 40th anniversary, back in April, and recently at The Royal Albert Hall , London as part of a Festival of Male Voice Choirs organised by the London Welsh Male Voice Choir.
To bring their year to a close the choir have launched a double album cd which was recorded live at their gala concert in Symphony Hall and includes some 34 tracks of the choir, and their special guests the Welsh Guards Fanfare of Trumpeters and ensemble, baritone Craig Yates, from only men aloud and Andrew Fletcher on the organ.
Judith Land the choirs founder and Director of Music commented, “it has been an incredible year and I am very proud of our achievements we thought it would be a fitting end to the year to launch our cd to the general public. We had some 2000 supporters in our audience at Symphony Hall and this cd makes an excellent memento of the occasion as well as appealing to anyone who enjoys a good choir and good music”
The CD costs just £5 and is available from Judith on email@example.com or
